Rev. Ricky McCarson

Crazy Heart Refuge Name: Finnbheara (Finvarra)
Crazy Heart Bodhisattva Name: Acalanatha (Achala)

Tibetan Refuge Name: Tenzin Khedrup
Plum Village Dharma Name: Wise Energy of the Heart

Ricky is the founder and lead facilitator of the Three Streams Sangha. He facilitates group meditation practice and Buddhist study sessions. He also offers individual instruction and mentorship to dedicated practitioners.

Ricky is an eclectic Dharma practitioner. He has spent over a decade learning and engaging in practices from many different traditions. He values non-sectarianism and non-attachment to views.

His early years were spent practicing in the Plum Village Tradition. He ultimately found a home in a daul-lineage approach. He practices as a Buddhist Yogi in both the Nyingma (Tibetan) and Celtic traditions. He is also a friend of the Secular Buddhist Tradition and engages with them often.

Ricky has received Refuge Vows, Bodhisattva Vows, and Priest Ordination from the Crazy Heart Lineage of Celtic Buddhism. The Crazy Heart Lineage was founded in 1989 by Yeshe Tungpa, direct student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. You can find more information on the lineage here.

Ricky is a current student of Pema Khandro Rinpoche and the Buddhist Studies Institute (BSI). He has completed the BSI's 200 Hour Meditation Instructor Training and is certified as a Calm Abiding Meditation Teacher. Ricky has received Tantric empowerments from all four main schools of Tibetan Buddhism. He has also received Ngakpa Ordination.

For new practitioners, he is a proponent of studying the core teachings from the Early Buddhist Texts and using the Three Yana approach to practice. Therefore, Three Streams Sangha propagates both non-sectarian Buddhism and the Celtic Buddhism of his lineage.
